Savvy Cookbook describes our vegetarian cookbook on Andhra recipes as a well illustrated cookbook full of choicest vegetarian recipes in an article titled “Eat your words”.
HERE IS A TRANSCRIPT OF THE REVIEW:
Capturing the tradition of Andhra vegetarian cooking with near perfection, this is a well illustrated cookbook with detailed pictures of regional spices. The chapters are classified as chutneys, powders, rices, curries, dals, yoghurts, sweets and crispies and are presided by an introductory note about Pedatha (a nickname for the 85 year old who inspired the book). The absence of Avakais (pickle) though is glaring, as is the inclusion of Bisibela huli and Vangi bath in the rice selection, both of which are Karnataka specialities. Otherwise the book is loaded with choicest vegetarian recipes with extensive space devoted to chutneys. A variety of recipes for podis (powders), kooras (curries) and dals are wonderfully presented. The sweet section could have probably been given more thoughts, with the exception of Bobatlu and Minapasunni, the other sweets are not really popular Andhra sweets. Overall a must-buy.
